Rewards
In order to spend your Biscuits, all you need to do is go to the Biscuit Reward Store, choose the voucher you would like to purchase, click on the chosen voucher, and then click “Buy Voucher”. You will only be able to buy a voucher if you have enough Biscuits saved for that voucher.
You can choose to either spend your Biscuits in the reward store as soon as you’ve earned them, or you may choose to bank them and save up for a larger treat.
Once you have chosen to redeem your Biscuits for a reward voucher in the reward store, the reward voucher will be stored in your Wallet. The expiry of the voucher will be clearly displayed so you can keep track of how long you have to use it at the specified reward partner.
If a voucher has disappeared from your Wallet, this is because it has expired. Once you have redeemed your Biscuits for a reward voucher, the voucher is valid until its expiry date. The expiry date is clearly displayed on the voucher so you can keep track of how long you have to use it at the specified reward partner. Once the voucher expires, it will no longer be available for use and will disappear from your wallet.
You are required to complete the Microchip Badge after the purchase of your first voucher in the Reward Store. Once you have completed a Microchip Badge for all of the dogs you have registered on the Biscuit app, you will be able to spend your Biscuits in the Reward Store.'
Your rewards Wallet is now split into ‘Active vouchers’ and ‘Used vouchers’ so you can more easily see the vouchers you still have to spend. Once you’ve redeemed a voucher, simply select ‘Mark as used’ in the voucher details screen and it will be moved into the ‘Used vouchers’ section. If you mark a voucher as used but it hasn’t been, don’t worry, you can still use it! Phew! (but you can’t move it back to the active section yet, sorry).
Voucher codes and gift cards are different and are often redeemed differently too. Please ensure that you are redeeming yours in the Gift Card section if you have a gift card (monetary amount), and in the voucher or discount section if you have a discount code (% off). Each retailers website will look slightly different, so please contact them directly to help you find where to redeem your voucher or gift card correctly, or if your problem persists.
- To use your gift card, log into the retailers website and go to your account.
- Under your account, click “Redeem a gift card”
- Enter your voucher code here to add the credit to your account
Vouchers are provided by the retailer to Biscuit. You will need to contact the retailer's customer service team with a copy of your receipt and a screenshot of your voucher so they can investigate what went wrong.
Please also double check you haven't used this voucher before.
If you delete your account you will lose your Biscuit (points) and we will not be able to reinstate them. If you are experiencing issues with your account, the best thing to do is to email our support team at support@biscuitpetcare.com

Activity tracking
Your dog’s recommended daily activity goal is determined by its breed and its age. Our team of vets and experts have set these activity goals based on clinical guidelines which set out the ideal physical activity minutes appropriate for each breed and age of dog.
In order to record a walk or activity with your dog, simply click on ‘Record activity’ on your dashboard, or click on the large plus sign in the navigation pane. This will take you to the ‘Record activity’ page where you will then select the dogs you are walking with and then select ‘Start’.
Here are some reasons why your walks are not tracking:
1. If you have chosen not to give the Biscuit app access to your location mapping (GPS), it will not be able to track a walk. We recommend that you give the Biscuit app ‘always on’ location access as well as allow ‘always on’ background location. This will enable you to track your walk even when your phone is in your bag or pocket. This data is not shared with anyone else and is securely stored according to all privacy regulations.
2. If you begin your walk and then don’t cover enough physical distance (e.g., you don’t actually leave home) the Biscuit app will not be able to record the activity and the minutes recorded will not count towards the active minutes required to hit your daily goal.
3. If your phone has no data/has run out of data, you must ensure that you are connected to Wi-Fi before starting a walk and on finishing a walk.
4. It’s also a good idea to have your phone’s battery sufficiently charged before recording a walk as mobile devices prioritise their functionality if they have low battery.
5. One final tip to ensure a walk is recorded correctly is to allow the timer to update before clicking ‘Finish’ to end a recording. On opening the Biscuit app after a walk, it can take a few seconds for the timer to update and display correctly.
6. Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the app. We are regularly releasing new updates to the app to improve our members' experience with the app.
7. Is your app crashing? Make sure you have enough storage space on your phone. This can cause the app to crash if you’re close to or reaching the maximum storage space on your phone.
In order to meet your daily activity goal, you will need to record a single or multiple activities that meet the recommended daily activity goal. For example, if your dog has a recommended daily activity goal of 30 minutes this can be achieved by recording one activity lasting 30 minutes in duration or two activities lasting 15 minutes each. If you start to record an activity but then do not leave the house or cover any physical distance, the minutes will not count towards the daily activity goal.
To meet your weekly goal, you must meet 3 or more of your daily activity goals before the end of the week (i.e. Monday to Sunday 23:59). You will then earn your bonus Biscuits to spend in the reward store.
In order to meet your daily activity goal, it is required that you hit ‘Start’ in the ‘Record activity’ page and then cover a certain physical distance on your activity with your dog. How you choose to cover this distance is up to you - you may choose to walk, run, or play together in the park.
By changing your phone’s GPS settings, this should allow the Biscuit app to accurately track your walks with your dog.
For iPhone:
1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
2. Make sure Location Services is on.
3. Scroll down to find the app.
4. Tap the app and select an option: Always: allows access to your location even when the app is in the background.
For Android phones:
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Touch and hold Location. If you don't find the Location :
3. Tap Edit or Settings. Then drag Location into your Quick Settings.
4. Tap App location permissions.
5. Under ”Allowed all the time," “Allowed only while in use,” and “Not allowed,” find the apps that can use your phone's location.
6. To change the app's permissions, tap it. Then, choose the location access for the app.
Unfortunately, the target daily goal in the app cannot be adjusted. The daily target is set by dog breed and age and as such is not determined by the amount you entered during registration.
The good news is that you can still earn Biscuits by taking your dog for shorter walks. Once you hit 25% of your daily target you will start earning Biscuits. We appreciate that this won’t help you hit the daily goal and earn the full 25 Biscuits, but you’ll definitely earn a proportion of them which you will then be able to spend in the Reward Store.
Yes, you can. Ideally, a dog should be walked every day however we currently recommend a minimum of '3 days a week' so it's achievable for all dog owners and to encourage those owners who can’t walk every day.
For each daily goal completed, you will get 25 Biscuits. You can reach that goal in one walk or by doing multiple walks in a day by stopping and starting the activity tracker.
If you hit your daily goal at least 3 times a week, you will get 50 extra Biscuits.
You can of course walk your dog a lot more, the app's goals and targets are just there to encourage people who aren't walking their dogs a lot to walk more often.
Unfortunately not.
Yes, you can record both dogs when you go for a walk.
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Open the app
2. Click the green '+' icon and 'Record Activity' as normal
4. Selected your dog's '+' sign - this will turn into a green tick.
5. Then swipe across and click the + icon on your second dog
5. Then click the green 'start' button
6. Start your walk - This will record both dog's walks.
We are currently looking at integrating with other devices and wearables in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for new developments.
Currently, account sharing with family isn’t available. However, we value feedback from our customers and consider suggestions for future updates.

Microchip badge
We are dedicated to improving the lives and wellbeing of dogs and this programme is funded to do this. We are also asking for microchip numbers not only to ensure that only dog owners are joining this programme but as a pet owner, this is a responsible thing to do for your dog. In April 2016, it became a legal requirement for dogs to be microchipped. It gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they get lost or stolen. For this reason, all members of Biscuit will be required to complete the Microchip Badge in order to access the full selection of rewards in the Reward Store.
We will only be using your Microchip number to check that your dog is registered on a UK microchip database that meets government standards.
Please be assured that no one can see your personal address details or make changes to your microchip without your (the registered dog owner's) permission.
We will, however, send you annual reminders to ensure you update the database provider if anything’s changed. Dogs Trust estimates that 2 out of 3 microchip data are out of date. If you move house or change your phone number, you must contact your microchip database provider to let them know. By completing the Microchip Badge, you’ll always have your dog’s microchip details to hand.
You earn 100 Biscuits
You just need to enter a couple of pieces of information about your dog’s microchip and upload a photo in the Biscuit app.
1. Open the Biscuit app
2. Click the ‘Badges’ icon
3. Select your dog
4. Click the badge you want to complete ‘Microchip Badge’
5. Add your postcode, microchip number & a photo of your microchip number.
If you experience any issues adding your microchip number please email us at support@biscuitpetcare.com detailing the issue & include a screenshot.
There are a number of ways to locate your dog’s microchip number. It may be recorded on any of the following pet-related documents:
- Pet passport
- Breeder contract
- Veterinary medication label
- Re-homing contract
- Vaccination record
If you don't know the microchip number, you can ask any of the following to scan your dog for it:
- a vet
- a dog warden
- a dog rescue centre
Visit your local vet to get your dog microchipped.
Your dog’s microchip is given a number, which will show up whenever your dog is scanned.
The professional who microchips your dog will also take your contact details.
These details are kept alongside the microchip number on a database so that your dog can be returned to you if it’s lost or stolen.
You must make sure that your dog is registered on one of the following databases (they all meet government standards):
- Animal Microchips
- Animal Tracker
- Chipworks
- Identibase
- MicroChip Central
- MicroDogID
- My Animal Trace
- MyPet
- National Veterinary Data Service
- Pet Chip Register
- Pet Database
- Pet Identity UK
- Petlog
- PetScanner
- ProtectedPet
- SmartTrace
- Track Your Paws
- UK PETtrac MicroChip Database
- We Trace Pets
You can be fined up to £500 if your dog is registered on a database that is not on the list. Your dog must still wear a collar and tag with your name and address when in a public place.
There are a few reasons why a Biscuit account may get suspended but one of the most likely reasons is when the microchip number that you’ve provided for your dog is not registered on any of the UK DEFRA-compliant databases. We strongly recommend that you register your dog’s microchip number and your contact details on one of these databases, it offers the best chance of reuniting you with your dog should they ever get lost or stolen. By doing so, you'll also avoid a £500 fine as it's been a legal requirement since April 2016 for all dogs in the UK to be chipped and registered on a DEFRA-compliant database.
If you have rehomed your dog from abroad, their microchip may have been implanted prior to them coming to the UK. Even though the microchip number may be registered on a European database, there is still a requirement to register it on a UK DEFRA-compliant database.
Microchips implanted abroad may have a different number formation to those implanted in the UK. If you experience any difficulties completing the Microchip Badge or find your account has been suspended, please email support@biscuitpetcare.com and we will help you to resolve the issue.
